    Item 1 -- Ordinary Apprentice's Indenture (cloth weave; 290 mm x 410 mm) between Sydney Wigglesworth, of Bradford, York [Yorkshire], and John Joyce & Co., Liverpool, Lancaster [Lancashire], and Elizabeth Alice Hotchin [formerly Wigglesworth, nee Jackson], also of Bradford, York [Yorkshire], signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Reginald Duck, Clerk, of Liverpool, and dated 15 August 1911. [Acc. No. 77/24]

    Item 2 -- Letter from John Joyce & Co., Liverpool, certifying that Sydney Wigglesworth has served an apprenticeship of four years in their employ from 1911 to 1915 on the barque 'Alice A. Leigh, dated 13 September 1915. (holograph; 1 leaf) [Acc. No. 77/45]

    Item 3 -- Newspaper article entitled 'British sailors' thrilling adventures at sea' regarding damage done to the 'Alice A. Leigh' during a storm en route to Falmouth from 'Iquque' [Iquique, Chile] in 1913. [Source: "Daily Sketch", 31 May 1913] [Acc. No. 77/45]
