    Contains photocopied material. Item 1 -- Last letter written by 2624 Sergeant Alan Blow, 'A' Company, 18 Battalion, 2NZEF, to his wife Mona Alice (nee Morley), sometime in November or early December 1941 and shortly before his death on December 4th. Content is mostly of a personal nature; however, Blow does briefly mention his interaction with the men of 28 (Maori) Battalion. (holograph; 7 leaves)

    Provenance: The letter and photograph album belonged to Mona Alice Pearce (nee Morley), who married three times: first to Alan Blow, second to Alex Harvey and third to Alan Pearce. She outlived all three. Upon her death, on 18 January 2004, the items were passed to her stepdaughter, Mrs Valerie Bieleski (nee Harvey).

    Sergeant Alan Blow served in the Western Desert Campaign of World War II. He died on 4 December 1941 and is buried in the Tobruk War Cemetery, Libya.
