    1 -- Scrapbook (37cm; 52 pages) containing copies of price lists titled "The N.Z.F.F. Co. Ltd., 1921 - 1935". Includes a 1922 list for The Farmers' Union Trading Co. (Auckland) Ltd.

    2 -- A newspaper cuttings scrapbook (30 cm; 51pages) containing articles relating to the NZ Farmers' Fertilizer Co. Ltd., 1919 ' 1926. Has [partial] contents pages at the front and includes loose pages of 'The New Zealand Herald', Friday November 11, 1983, pages, 7-10 inside the back cover. At numbered page 49 there is a loose sheet with an article from the 'Daily News', December 1924 and at numbered page 77 are two loose pages, one titled "Contagious Abortion" and the other "Correspondence. The NZ Farmers Fertilizer Co. (To the Editor)".

    3 -- Folder containing:

    (1) - Correspondence (two letters) between S. Irwin Crookes and Sons and the NZ Farmers' Fertilizer company in regard a royalty agreement on Copper Sulphate manufactured and sold, dated 1933.

    (2) - Deed between Maurice McGill Wright and the New Zealand Farmers' Fertilzer Company Limited regarding a process of "an improved method of incorporating or mixing weed killing or plant growth regulating substances with superphosphate and granulated superphosphate", dated 19 December 1950.

    (3) - A company's progress (35cm; 8 pages) - a descriptive booklet of the NZFF Co.

    (4) - Partial page detailing Bankers, Directors, General Manager and Secretary [of NZFF?]

    (5) - Photocopy of binder spine "Confidential letters from 1st April 1912 to 11th October 1912".

    (6) - History of the Dental and Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. (4 pages; plus duplicate copies of page one and two)

    (7) - Thirty eight (38) letters of the New Zealand Consolidated Dental Company Ltd, including memorandums detailing monthly salary figures.

    4 -- Minutes (32 cm; 76 pages) of general meetings of the Auckland Drug Co. Ltd., 1934 - 1972. (shareholders). Includes Annual Reports. At numbered page 53 there is a handwritten loose page of names.

    5 -- Minutes (33 cm; 155 pages) of the meetings of Directors of the Auckland Drug Co. Ltd., 1962 - 1974. Includes Register of Directors and Secretary as from 10 September 1964.

    6 -- One folder containing:

    (1) - Minutes (20 pages) of the Auckland Drug Co. Ltd., 1972 - 1981 (Directors & shareholders).

    (2) Souvenir photograph of eight men seated around a table. Names on photograph folder are: Crooks, K.M. Hoggard, P. Riddell, J.O. Langley, Kei Nishiura, Tatsuo Fuwa and one name that is not legible.

  • Subject Notes
    The New Zealand Farmers Fertiliser Company Limited was incorporated in 1916. The Te Papapa Fertiliser Works opened in 1921 and the New Plymouth Fertiliser Works opened in 1925. By the mid 1970's output exceeded 900,000 tonnes per annum and by the mid 1980's sales exceeded $200 million per annum. In 1985 the company name changed from The New Zealand Farmers' Fertiliser Company Limited to Fernz Corporation Limited. The Company's fertiliser, agricultural and industrial chemical operations commenced trading under the name of Farmers Fertiliser Limited.
