    Athol John McDonald Miller was the family historian of the Clark, Gardner and Miller families. Folders 1-19 relate to the Clark family and folders 20-29 relate to the Gardner family. These papers complement Miller's two published histories on the Clark and Gardner families, and the Gardner and Le Gallais papers in the Library's collection.

    Includes papers on the Miller family and programmes and other memorabilia relating to the New Zealand and Australian Universities Rugby Tests of 1922-25.

  • Subject Notes
    Athol John McDonald Miller was born at Hobsonville, Auckland, New Zealand, the son of James Miller and his wife, Ellen (nee Gardner), and was raised by his grandmother, Louisa Felgate Gardner (nee Clark). He gained his engineering degree from Auckland University, where he was captain of the AUC Rugby Club in 1925. After a career as a civil engineer, he retired in 1975 to devote his time to researching his family history.
