Falla held in the Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington (Turnbull Ref. No. MS-Papers-2366), on 9 January 2012, as part of his research project concerning collections of staff papers held in the Museum Library.

    R. A. Falla: Shipping clerk, ornithologist, teacher, museum director, began his scientific career as an ornithologist (1931-1935) and school service officer at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, New Zealand. He was the museum's Assistant Director, 1936-1937; Director of Canterbury Museum, 1937-1947; and Director of the Dominion Museum, 1947-1966.
