  • Subject Notes
A plate for Mrs Stella Davis (Alexander) 1880-1962, wife of Eliot Rypinski Davis. Hilda Wiseman designed plates for Stella Davis in 1931 and 1935. Presumably there is a rebus element indicated by the star overhead. The circular image shape is unusual for Mervyn Taylor. Reproduced on back cover of "Ex Libris. New Zealand bookplates 1925-1950", Wellington, 1992.
