    Swedish born Clas Edvard Fristrom arrived in New Zealand as a naturalised Australian in the early twentieth century, exhibiting at Auckland Society of Arts 1904, and up to 1918. Taught at Elam School of Fine Art, under director E.W. Payton 1911-1915. Left Auckland for Wellington with his wife and moved to California, U.S.A. Died there 27 March 1950.
