    Bond Collection is principally maritime material collected by, and in part taken by, Bill Bond who purchased Marine Photos (an Auckland photographic company) in 1958. Previous photographer-proprietors were Henry Winkelmann, Tudor Collins, Arthur Breckon, Nelson Stedman, Max Frommherz. The bulk of the collection between 1940-1949 are Frommherz's, and it is his dating code that is used, A=1st month, January; no. following=image number; middle no.=day of month; last no.

    =year, eg. L146/15/45 = L(Dec)146(146thneg)/15(day)/45(1945).
