"Tamehana Peeke Kerepeehi" inscribed on verso
"TAMEHANA PEEKE NGATIHAKOPAOA CHIEF. ILES PHOTO. REGISTERED No 166" chemically inscribed on original print as noted in the record of print "Oc,B6.1" held in the British Museum.
Hammond indicates Tamehana Peeke was of Ngati Haua and Ngati Tuwaretoa.
More research required to establish which Iwi Tamehana originates.
