    Sail number: V18 Macushla - out of commission 3 years 1949-1952, by 1952 had been re-registered as V18, V28 given to Coronet.

    18-foot class, round or square bilge, clinker or carvel, usually with bowsprit. Many never raced; were purpose-built, ballasted cruisers. In 1948 a group broke away & formed 18-ft Flying Squadron. They abandoned numbers and carried insignia on their sails, eg Gay Deceiver, reg V-226, but carried a coloured square on sail.
