Tapu (sacred) volcanic rock on the left hand side of the Kawakawa-Opua road between Taumarere and the Tirohanga turnoff. The road deviated to preserve the stone in its resting place. It was shifted about 1929 and then replaced to its former position, but eventual road improvements led to the stone being completely destroyed by blasting in late 1940s.
