Provenance Details
per Miss E. A. Evans,
18 Orakau Ave.
Epsom, Auckland.
Past Museum Librarian Enid Evans received the photographs while in England, at the instigation of Miss A. Christich.
Note included with photographs "Photographs of the Marquis and Marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair. The Marquis was Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, the Marchioness was President of the International Council of Women. These were presented by their grand-daughter, the Hon. Margaret Sinclair (Miss) 2 Green Lane, West Clandon, Surrey, England. I received them white I was in England, at the instigation of Miss A. Christich (who was a friend of Mrs Allhusen, who presented material to the library). I wrote to Miss Sinclair, formally acknowledging them, and telling her that I would pass them on to you, and that you would write to her when you had received them. In my letter, I said that the photos of Marchioness would be of interest to our Women's Archives section, because of her connection with International Council of Women."
