Note from donor Dr G.H. Robertson dated 4 October 1976: "also two photos of a drawing of the 1NZEF 3rd Field ambulance behind Flers just 60 years ago, with the first 'tank' which was parked on the road up to Flers. My own part in this 'battle' is to be found in the History of the N.Z. Medical Corps by Colonel Carberry, and I need not go into that. J. Hardie Neil of Auckland was O.C. 3rd F Amb. and the Ambulance always had an auckland flavour"
