    HOLOTYPE cited NZ Journal of Botany 41:224 (2003).
    Female specimen in fruit. Amongst boulders at base of active scree. Plants decumbent, producing trailing branches up to 1m long and 0.5m tall. Branches stout, recurved "whip-like", leaves yellow-green to bronze-green, fruit bright orange. Growing with Dracophyllum prostratum, D. uniflorum, Hebe pinguifolia, Chionochloa macra and Podocarpus nivalis. This Coprosma is dominant at this site.
