Corticolous on Leptospermum scoparium growing on damp ground, in low scrub with Halocarpus biformis. Growing with Frullania ptychantha, Frullania sp., Radula physoloba, Goebeliella cornigera, Drepanolejeunea aucklandica, & fragments of Jubulopsis novae-zelandiae.
PARATYPE of R. splendida, cited in Nova Hedwigia 90: 113 (2010)
