    Specimens collected are windfall. One mature tree in advanced stage of decay (trunk diameter c.30cm, part rotting), one small tree struggling on cliff top in this pocket of bush next to (W of) Matakawau Reserve. Toatoa has been recorded in the reserve but I've not seen it (and know of only two other trees in the district.) Scarce. One cone present.
