    In railway ballast of rail siding, in damp hollow in gravel. Dominant plant in area 2m x1m, surrounded by sparse Veronica anagallis-aquatica, V. arvensis, Ornithopus pinnatus, Trifolium dubium. Sepals > corolla; corolla white, lobes up to 1mm long. Plants annual glabrous, lower leaves ovate-spathulate, very obscurely toothed. All Veronica sp. plants at this site had shrivelled by 18 Dec 2003
