    Willow carr; on edge of peat bog. Willows c.6m tall; moss abundant on the bases and roots of the willows, below that covered in water. Associated with: Azolla filiculoides, Lemna minor & Spirodela punctata, Nertera scapanioides, & shrubby plants of Coprosma tenuicaulis & C. propinqua also present Ranunculus flammula common, & Osmunda regalis locally common. At times plants would be under water. Short male branches present on main stems.
