Scarce. In river bed on exposed conglomerate rock in sites that would be frequently flooded. Awns variable ranging from straight through curved to geniculate. However, branching extravaginal and florets match either L. lyallii or L. striata. Specimens collected together. The larger plant is most like L. lyallii based on other AK gatherings, while the inflorescence of the smaller plant has none of the purplish markiings typical of L. striata.
