Field Collection Notes
Culivated beside a small outside pond. Starting flowering a few weeks ago, flowering stems >90cm long, leaning out to one side, flowering from the bottom of the expanding stem upwards. Flowers mauve, hang down, 7cm long x 2cm across. Stigma (1) and stamens (6) all same length & curved together at their tips and included inside the tubular flower which fully opens and then ~closes at the tip. Corolla fused c.2.5cm from their tips. Not aware of seed being set. Leaf blades green to 18cm long x 11cm across (favoured by snails), petiole channelled to 28cm long. Present in garden for >15 years, clump slowly expanding vegetatively.
