    Uncommon. In dark, very humid, north-facing gulch growing on Cyrtandra lillianae under a thick canopy of neinei (Fitchia speciosa), kaiatea (Weinmannia samonesis), kaiatea ko'u (Ascarina diffusa), kiekie (Freycinetia arborescens) and pua (Fagraea berteroana). Thallus when fresh adaxially dark olive green, abaxially yellow grading to brown centrally with yellow pseudocyphellae, apothecia present.
