Uncommon.Growing on exposed coral and basaltic tuff and scoria near southern margin of summit, amongst purslane (Portulaca oleracea) under an open canopy of Kermadec pohutukawa (Metrosideros kermadecensis). Possibly more common than indicated because sterile plants are superficially very similar to sterile examples of Digitaria setigera which is also present, and seemingly common on Dayrell.
