    Common. Growing intermingled with Pseudocyphellaria argyracea on the basal branches and trunk of a massive bryophyte covered Kermadec pohutukawa (Metrosideros kermadecensis) which is the dominant tree in the dense Metrosideros/Rhopalostylis forest that covers this part of Raoul island. Thallus when fresh dark glaucous-blue to almost brown-blue, drying brownish, margins of lobes free from isidia and marginal lobules.
