Field Collection Notes
Saxicolous on massive basalt boulders exposed at extreme low tide. Confined to the more sheltered sides where forming a stubbly growth of dark brown tufts. Although common specimens were extremely difficult to collect safely during the surges experienced whilst on the island. Associated and indeed growing admixed with specimens gathered as K1024 (see AK 327450) of which this may be a juvenile state, and also with another smaller, bushy, brown alga (K1028 (AK 327453)).
