    Abundant (but difficult to collect). Saxicolous on gabbro boulders lying exposed with dense kikuyu (Cenchrus clandestinus) grassland bordering the downward slope side of "Wasp Sting Bush". Associated with Parmotrema crinitum, P. reticulatum and Pseudocyphellaria crocata. Forming dark red patches on exposed rocks.
