Growing in a slightly raised bog that is dominated by Baumea? arthrophylla, Holcus lanatus, sweet vernal, Lotus pedunculatus and Eleocharis acuta. Thelypteris confluens is locally common as is Lythrum ? junceum, Nasturtium officinale, Persicaria decipiens, Carex maorica, Calystegia sepium subsp. roseata, tall fescue. Other spp. include Juncus articulatus, Parentucellia viscosa, Plantago australis, Baumea juncea, Ulex europaeus and manuka. Epilobium chionanthum was in dense colonies with some individuals up to 1m tall when in flower, growing initially from semi-prostrate mats. Flowers cream-white with yellow anthers. Common at site
