Common understorey and emergent canopy tree growing on the southern-eastern side of Prospect. Specimens in full flower at time of visit. Leaves adaxially glaucescent. Associated vegetation comprising dense Kermadec pohutukawa (Metrosideros kermadecensis), nikau (Rhopalostylis baueri), hutu (Ascarina lucida var. lanceolata), Coprosma acutifolia, and mahoe (Melicytus aff. ramiflorus).
