    Flora of New Guinea. Botanical Collections of the Division of Botany, Department of Forests, Lae.

    Habitat: Advanced regrowth in gully near air strip.
    Annot.: Erect, very large crowned tree, branching low down. Height 90 feet, bole 30 feet, d.b.h. 18 inches. Bark grey brown; shallow, longitudinal fissures; inner brown. Wood cream, very hard. Leaves mid green above, pale below; young leaved [leaves] tinged red. Sepals pale lime green. Petals white, anthers dark yellow, flower buds covered in sticky exudate.

    Ex Herbario Musei Britannici. Plants collected on the British Museum (Natural History) - University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Expedition to New Guinea 1964-5 with the cooperation of the Division of Botany, Lae, T.N.G.
