Warm west-facing slope. Cultivated. Small pachycaul tree with trunk c.2 m high. Leaves in terminal cluster; base broad & red; otherwise leaf ± glaucescent. Inflor. a very large terminal panicle with rigid cream-coloured branches. Perianth white, c.6 mm long, segments linear, later re-curving. Fruit 10-12 mm diam., globular, shining, translucent orange when mature.
