Uncommon.Growing on Makatea in Kermadec petrel colony. Usually admixed with Cyperus insularis. Plants mostly dead, or present as cotyledones due to cyclone damage. Foliage bright green. Stems bearing small hooks. Flowers smaller than associated S. nigrum specimens (see AK 356402, 356524, 357088, 357089), borne in umbels. Only immature fruits seen - but these with reflexed calyces.
