Field Collection Notes
New housing subdivision. Bare earth of newly cut road. Geology: peat over shingle of quartz & granite. Podsol profile with a distinct iron pan. Poorly draining. Originally manuka. Community: pioneer roadside weeds, sedges, ?bartsia (yellow), Holcus. Collection shows variation in size. Very common - abund/dominant in places - invades lawns in district.
