Tuhipoka mō te Kohinga i te Wāhi Taketake
Most likely P. elongata 'Qixian'. Planted in 1996 among kauri with the idea of forcing up kauri with straight trunks. Supplied by Ian Barton. Different named varieties planted at the same time. This tree [cultivar] is the tallest and most prolific flowering. Further down gully was a timber lot harvested in summer of 2014/15. Residue burnt and now Paulownia have seeded so much so to be a nuisance among the newly planted natives. Hundreds of seedlings and several saplings >3m after 2 yrs. Specimen: large leaf from a sapling
