    Dense subalpine leatherwood scrub dominated by Olearia colensoi var. colensoi and Pseudowintera colensoi with Hoheria sexstylosa, Raukawa simplex, Melicytus lanceolatus, Coprosma foetidissima, Coprosma dumosa, Polystichum vestitum, Carex spp, Hypolepis rufobarbata, Ranunculus reflexus, Hydrocotyle heteromeria, Viola filicaulis and Cardamine debilis agg. all very common to abundant. PM Greywacke, soil brown loam with deep leaf litter. Severe deer browse. Probably common but not as obvious as M.complex agg
