Description: Plan which is also found in A Centennial History of Tauranga'' (W.H. Gifford & H Bradney Williams, facing p.240) and The Story of Gate Pa'' (Captain Gilbert Mair, between p.16-17). Mair includes the following: "Plan of attack on the Maori position at Gate Pah, near Tauranga, New Zealand, Friday April 29th, 1864, reproduced from an old plan (author unknown), by Lt. Col. G.A. Ward, 4th (Waikato) Mounted Rifles and Capt. A J. Mirrielees, 6th (Hauraki) Regt. Tauranga, 1913." The plan of the trenches was originally drawn by H.G. Robley.
