Plain facts
Description: "In this, the first issue of our little publication, we propose to tell our readers something about ourselves, of the purpose of our being, and the reason of our birth. As our name implies, we shall deal in facts - facts so plain that he who runs may read. In a democratic country such as ours the people elect their rulers, locally as well as nationally, by popular vote. They make their mark and pick their men, but not unaided. [...] It is to counteract in some small measure the baneful influence of this hireling daily press that "Plain Facts" was born. It represents the effort and sacrifice of those who believe that nothing good can come from deceit, and that the interests of the people will best be served by those who tell the truth. "Plain Facts" will make its appearance fortnightly, [...]. Our power is limited and our scope restricted, but with the goodwill and co-operation of those who stand for clean politics, we shall at least succeed in assisting some of our readers to identify the daily press as Public Enemy No.1."--Vol.1, no.1, page 1
