Description: Rifle shooting jacket associated with Andrew (Andy) Gordon Bain, St Heliers, Tamaki. Bain was a member of Auckland City Defence Rifle Club, the Auckland Home Guard, and was later instrumental in establishing two other rifle clubs: Tamaki Miniature Rifle Club & Mt Richmond Rifle Club (Otahuhu). The collarless jacket is a heavy cotton drill with hooks and attached leather & rubber pads, 6-button front closure, large hip pockets and two angled pockets on the lower back. A number of embroidered cloth badges are sewn to the jacket: Mt Richmond Rifle Club on left front; five A-grade Marksman badges for the years 1965-7, 1969-70 on right front; two badges on centre back.
