Henry Thomas Norton - Letters

documentary heritage
  • Description

Contains photocopied material. Typed transcript (photocopy) of a letter from Harry Norton, France, to his wife, dated 10 May 1916.

The following extracts are taken from pages 74 and 75:

    [Page 74]

"There seems to be 2 of myself. I am doing my day's work & paying attention to every detail, yet underneath it all there is another me, just the same, but thinking, thinking of you all the time, and I am with you in Spirit and never seem away from you Chum."

    [Page 75]

"It is so strange, but I can control two lines of thought at the same time ... I have no doubt that it is the Holy Spirit working in me. I try so hard all day long to lead a Christian life. I have realised that God is watching over me and I am going forward from day to day so comforted & happy, and I know I will come safely through & home to you all."
