    Newspaper clipping containing a photograph captioned: "Above: At a special ceremony in Auckland's tranquil Eden Gardens attended by about 40 members of the Returned Army Nurses' Association, Lady Blundell unveiled a plaque on a seat dedicated to the memory of Barbara Lady Freyberg. Wife of former Governor-General Sir Bernard Freyberg, Lady Freyberg was the association's patroness.

    She is well remembered for her work with the New Zealand Forces' Clubs in London, Cairo, Rome and Bari during World War II. On Lady Blundell's left is Mrs Sally Callandar, president of the Auckland branch of the association.".

    Baroness Barbara Freyberg (14 June 1887 - 24 September 1973) was a british peeress and welfare worker in Cairo during WWII. Patroness of the Returned Army Nurses Association.
    Lady June Daphne Blundell ONZ QSO n�e Halligan (1922 � 2012) was known for her extensive community activism and welfare work. Heavily involved with St John and the Cancer Foundation of New Zealand. Wife of Sir Denis Blundell, New Zealand�s first resident Governor-General.
