    Photograph album compiled by Frances Shakespear and gifted to her uncle, William Frederick Shakespear in 1909. The album contains photographs taken by Frances of Hauturu (Little Barrier) during the time that the Shakespear family where caretakers on the Island between 19 January 1897 to 28th February 1910. The prints are mostly of scenery, family snapshots, boating and wild life. All the photographs are accompanied by a description written below the prints.

    The album has a green cloth and leather cover with embroidered lettering and fern designs on the front. On the inside front cover is a plate written by Frances which reads “To my beloved Uncle W.F. Shakespear. From his ever affectionate niece Sis 1909”.
