A sign reading 'PRODUCE STORE' can be seen on the right side of the awning, with a chalkboard sign leaning against the front of the store. Next to this building is a row of three attached flat roofed, single storey buildings. A sign reading 'E & H.
ISAACS' is visible in the window of the first flat-roofed building. In front of the second building is another awning facing onto the street, with a sign reading 'M. BRIGHTON' visible on the side of the awning. On the second storey of the building to the right of the image is a sign reading ' NEW ZEALAND INSURANCE COMP OFFICES', at the front of the lower storey is another sign reading 'GENERAL WAREHOUSE'. In front of the row of buildings is a row of four horse-drawn carriages, facing towards the right of the image. A number of male figures can be seen around the carriages.
