Hotunui, which was loaned to Auckland War Memorial Museum in 1925, was carved by Hotereni Taipari and named after his ancestor, Hotunui. Image taken in Thames before Hotunui was dismantled and loaned to the Auckland Museum in 1925. Refer to 'Hotunui : The restoration of a meeting house' by Gerry Barton and David Reynolds.
