Elizabeth Ann Morris (1824-1918), who was a cousin of the artist William Morris, married Henry Charles Holman on 16 April 1841, and they had eight children together. H. C. Holman served as colonial architect and superintendent of public works in the administration of Governor William Hobson.
Elizabeth wrote a reminiscences in 1897 of pioneer life in New Zealand (MS-146), which has subsequently been published, along with extracts from her letters.
Her youngest son, William Alfred Holman (1864-1949) was a New Zealand architect who designed prominent commercial and residential buildings in Auckland as well as Whangarei, Hamilton, Gisborne and Christchurch.
