  • Description

Overcast day at the beach near Apia, eight women are featured fishing in the shallows, in water deeper than their knees. All wear long-sleeved clothing, most wearing hats and carrying woven baskets on their backs. Three nets extended on two sticks are being held out of the water by two hands, while all others are submerged. In the background buildings are along te shore with a jetty, and forested hills stretch into the distance behind them.
