Printed caption on verso reads: "British Staff Officers questioning captured Turkish Officers. With the aid of the German officers, the Turks have so thoroughly fortified the Gallipoli Peninsula, that every yard of the ground is, so to speak, a death trap, and in consequence the advance of the Allied troops is slow and tedious. Hidden land mines, barbed wire entanglements covered by the undergrowth, pits and machine guns, are some of the obstacles to contend with. Every effort is made to glean information from prisoners which would assist the advancing armies, but the wily Turk is not to be trusted."
  • Public Access Text

Company information on verso reads: "Tuck's Post Card. The Dardanelles Operations. Series II. Raphael Tuck & Sons' "Photogravure" Postcard. No. 4348 ART Publishers to their Majesties the King and Queen. By Appointment. Printed in England."
