      Sergeant Gerald Vincent Aitken (57291) served with the 1st Battalion, Auckland Infantry Regiment, 1NZEF, during the latter part of World War I. He took part in the Western European campaign, where he was wounded twice, and was part of the army of occupation that served in Germany after the armistice.
