    Don Urquhart, Karaka farmer and amateur photographer; majority of photographs on south Manukau shellbanks midway between motorway and Clarks Beach.

    Donald Allan Urquhart born 11 March 1929; died 17 March 1997. Farmer, amatuer photographer, amatuer ornithologist. Contributed articles to Notornis.
    Urquhart family were early settlers in in Karaka. Donald was one of three sons born to Eugene Augustus (Gus) and Flora Amy Augusta Macdonald. The other two sons were Alexander and Ian. Donald never married.
