Album caption : Result of good drive - Only a portion about two fifths of total logs at Booms. 32,000 pounds were spent in opening up the Bush and preparing for this result. The Booms can be seen in the distance - this view shows two bends in the River - five bends were filled with logs.

Note inside cover of album : "The views in this book illustrate the method of working a Kauri Bush in Country too precipitous for tramways. The Wharekawa Bush was a State Forest Reserve on the Watershed of the Wharekawa River, between Tairua and Whangamata. It was twice devastated by fire. It was put up for Auction, and bought by the LOB.COY - they converted what was apparently a total loss inot a taxable asset."
