"The fruits of our labours is a history of the Chinese fruit shops that proliferated in the many towns and cities around New Zealand. It is told through the personal experiences of the fruiterers and greengrocers who spent hours displaying fruit, trimming vegetables and serving with a smile. Their recollections are brought to life by numerous photos generously provided by their families and are enriched by additional information from libraries, archives and museums.
