Includes bibliographical references. Most appendix chapters have separate half title page. 'Of the Patagonians' and 'A letter to a member of Parliament on mail-coaches' appears twice in volume, with separate title pages. Spine title: Tennant's Literary life &c.

    Bound with A genera of birds / [Thomas Pennant]. London: printed for B. White, MDCCLXXXI [1781]. ESTC T845. AWMM copy: Full leather binding, boards bordered on outer and inner edges with gold tooled decorations. Green, red, yellow and blue marbled endpapers. Circular white and gold label of Norman Court and AWMM Powell classification label C.2 on inside front board. Lightly annotated, including tipped-in slip of paper at page 99. Does not contain engraved frontispiece portrait.
