    New Zealand troopship magazine. Housed in NZ troopship magazine box 3. The Committee : Lieut. W. S. Jordan (Editor), Captain J. L. Kingan (Chairman), Captain G. S. Abramovitch, Sgt- Major R. A. Doig, Sgt R. F. Vincent, Bdr. V. Vickers, Spr L.A.T. Bell. Cover designer : Mr L. C. Westhoff. The 5th Reinforcements of 2NZEF (222 officers and 6066 other ranks) embarked at Wellington on 7 April 1941 for the Middle East in "Mauretania" and "Nieuw Amsterdam".

    The troops in the latter ship transferred to "Aquitania" at Singapore on 25 April. They reached Egypt on 13 May 1941. "Nieuw Amsterdam" HMT 26 carried New Zealand and Australian troops. Master of the ship : Captain J. J. Bijl. Officer Commanding Troops : Colonel L. H. Jardine. Officer Commanding A.I.F. Troops : Major C. M. Black.
